Questions People Ask About Our Skylight Blinds

What is a skylight blind?

These are roller blinds designed to cover the opening of a skylight window from the inside. They are ideal for larger velux windows, skylights, and larger glass roof styles. Skylight blinds reduce heat loss, control sunlight and glare, and can be used as blackout blinds for bedrooms.

How do roof window blinds work?

The tensioned roller blinds extend and retract when desired. Our blinds are made to measure and feature a reliable motor system. The motor tensions the fabric against a spring or, in larger installations, against another motor. This ensures the fabric never sags.

Are they available in different colours?

Every installation of our blinds is unique. This means you can choose from our full range of 200+ colours to match your skylights, room decor, and personal taste.

Are Skylight Blinds worth it?

Roof windows, skylights, and glass roofs are amazing architectural features in many homes and buildings. Our skylight blinds fit into your space but also make your room better by controlling light, heat, and noise.

Can you get blinds for roof lanterns?

Yes, our skylight roller blind systems work perfectly for most roof lanterns. Since we design each system for the frame, we can fit a blind to even the most generous of skylights.

Is there an alternative to Velux window blinds?

Velux window blinds work for their windows but are not really suitable for other installations. The maximum size for any single Velux blind is 200 x 100 cm. If you only have a small window, this might work. But if you want a larger installation, then you can choose Skylight Blinds from James Robertshaw.
