The changing seasons offer beautiful variety to the English garden, but they also pose one huge problem – how do we enjoy all that outdoor space when the weather is less than ideal? This jaw-dropping architectural triumph of a house we visited in Hale, Cheshire, had just this problem. The client wanted an outdoor kitchen, to be flexibly used throughout the year. James Robertshaw were invited to design a solution to accommodate.

From first look, it was obvious that whichever solution we specified there would be a need to augment and enhance the strong design aesthetic of the house and garden space. This wasn’t just about adding a usable all-weather solution – it was about creating a bespoke environment that complimented the building. A W-Series: Silver retractable roof, with integrated and dimmable LED lights was the starting point, but the addition of three retractable wall blinds all integrated through the same remote control (and Amazon Alexa) was the only option for that all-important wow factor.

Following creation of architectural drawings though our in-house architect, we manufactured the roof system and the wall blinds in our Bolton production facility. We knew that the installation would require incredible attention to detail, ensuring that the beautiful design of the property was fully complimented within our addition. Our engineers used all of their expertise to ensure a flawless finish while attaching the system to the building, achieving the impression of a fully integrated and seamless outdoor kitchen.

Our installation has created an additional wow factor on a property that was already contemporary in design and architecture. It is testament to the dedication of our team that the flexible entertaining space we have created looks completely at home in its sleek modern surroundings. Come rain or shine, snow or heat waves, the owners will be able to enjoy long days and nights with family and friends for years to come.
